What?! Stone? Gall? Bladder?

My twin, Nana has recently had her gallbladder removed by keyhole surgery on the 16th of August at Rejang Medical Centre, Sibu (RMCS). Let me do the setori telling...

On the August, 16, she had her worst attack in the middle of the night. The attack lasted for more than 16 hours, so we decided to send her to RMCS for the second time. Actually she was admitted for half day at RMCS on the 30th of June where she was diagnosed with gallstone. She was supposed to have the surgery on 30th June but the doctor cancelled it. The doctor afraid that some stone might had blocked the bile duct, so he referred Nana to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), Kuching for Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).

On the 5th of July, Nana was admitted at SGH for the ERCP on the 7th of July. She was then, checked out from the hospital on July, 7th at 11.50pm! Yes, P.M. Ko ada ? Sejarah pertama Female Surgical Ward 7B bila pesakit keluar almost midnight padah misi. She was put onto a waiting list and was scheduled to have the surgery at SGH on the 23rd of September 2011.

So, she requested to Dr. Chen from RMCS to do the surgery ASAP on the 16th of July. Admitted to the ward at 5pm and sent to the operation theater around 7pm. She was back at the ward around 9.45pm and back home on the 18th July.

Thank god, the surgery was a total success. She's back to work again last Monday after 3 weeks of "holidays". Yey!

I Honour You Teachers...

Got this email from a friend and I wanted to share it with the readers of this blog.

**********
In Honour of Teachers!

The dinner guests were sitting around the table discussing life.

One man, a CEO (proud of being a professional), decided to explain the problem with education. He argued, 'What's a kid going to learn from someone who decided his best option in life was to become a teacher?'

He reminded the other dinner guests what they say about teachers: 'Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach.'

To stress his point he said to another guest; 'You're a teacher, Mary. Be honest. What do you make?'

Mary, who had a reputation for honesty and frankness replied, 'You want to know what I make? (She paused for a second, then began...)

'Well, I make kids work harder than they ever thought they could.

I make a C+ feel like the Medal of Honor.

I make kids sit through 40 minutes of class time when their parents can't make them sit for 5 without an I Pod, Game Cube or movie rental.

You want to know what I make?' (She paused again and looked at each and every person at the table.)

''I make kids wonder.

I make them question.

I make them apologize and mean it.

I make them have respect and take responsibility for their actions.

I teach them to write and then I make them write. Keyboarding isn't everything.

I make them read, read, read.

I make them show all their work in maths. They use their God given brain, not the man-made calculator.

I make my students from other countries learn everything they need to know in English while preserving their unique cultural identity.

I make my classroom a place where all my students feel safe.

I make my students stand, to say the Pledge of Allegiance to the National Flag, and sing the National Anthem, because we live in this great country.

Finally, I make them understand that if they use the gifts they were given, work hard, and follow their hearts, they can succeed in life.'

Mary paused one last time and then continued, then, when people try to judge me by what I make, with me knowing money isn't everything, I can hold my head up high and pay no attention because they are ignorant..... You want to know what I make?

I MAKE A DIFFERENCE. What do you make Mr. CEO?'

His jaw dropped, he went silent.

Goodbye !

Well, it's time to say goodbye to my Compaq Presario V3000. The technician told me that it could be due to a faulty motherboard. Other option, replace the motherboard. Not worth it!

Such a nearly perfect laptop for me :)

My mom nyuruh beli laptop baru jak, "Gores aja credit card nya kena meli ka baru, ni alah enda ngaga assignment laban nya. Nuan tentu enggai ngena laptop ka mit nya". Manukan Island

Went to Manukan Island on 25th July with Mom & Sisters (Jayne & Nana) for an easy get-away day trip from the hustle and bustle of KK (Read: AVOID Manukan Island on weekends *Heh*).

Departed from Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal around 12.30pm by boat and the journey took merely 15 - 20 minutes. We paid RM17.00 per person to and fro Manukan plus RM6.00 per person for compulsory tariff fee at the ferry terminal before departing.

Splash! Splash!

Fishes underneath the jetty say "Hi!"

White sandy beach + crystal clear water = Manukan Island

Miniature version of Kota Kinabalu city can be seen from here ;)

We registered at the counter and paid RM3.00 per person for conservation fee. The fee is valid for one day and you can re-use it for other islands if you're on island hopping package (choice of 1, 2, 3, 4 islands)

One of some attractions on the island - Remnants of World War II. Torpedo shells???

Butterflies caught on camera ;)

Manukan is highly recommended for snorkeling. Snorkeling equipments? No worries, these equipments can be rented at one of the shop in the island. Affordable price I might say. Snorkel + mask rental: RM10 (deposit RM40). Anyway, I found Nemo :)

So guys, whenever you're in Kota Kinabalu for your vacation, please include Manukan Island in your list :)

Tanjung Simpang Mengayau - The Tip of Borneo

Here are few snapshots that we (Me & Nana) took during our "a day trip out of the city" with Mom & Sis Jayne to Tanjung Simpang Mengayau, located in Kudat on 24th July 2010. It takes about 3 hours (or 215km) drive to get there from Kota Kinabalu city.

Nice view

Enjoying the stunning view :-)

Strong wind! Bagagar sia bediri di sini bah kana tiup itu ribut! *serious*

I'll be back one day for my second visit *finger crossed*... ;-)

FAKE Friends VS REAL Friends

Just want to share something good with you guys...

FAKE FRIENDS: Never ask for food.
REAL FRIENDS: Is the reason you have no food.

FAKE FRIENDS: Call your parents Mr. / Mrs.
REAL FRIENDS: Call your parents DAD / MOM.

FAKE FRIENDS: Bail you out of jail and tell you what you did was wrong.
REAL FRIENDS: Would next to you saying "we screwed up... but that was fun!"

FAKE FRIENDS: Never seen you cry
REAL FRIENDS: Cry with you

FAKE FRIENDS: Borrow your stuff for a few days then give it back.
REAL FRIENDS: Keep you stuff so long they forget it's yours.

FAKE FRIENDS: Know a few things about you.
REAL FRIENDS: Could write a book about you with direct quotes from you.

FAKE FRIENDS: Will leave you behind if that is what the crowd is doing.
REAL FRIENDS: Will kick the whole crowds butt that left you.

FAKE FRIENDS: Would knock on your front door.
REAL FRIENDS: Walk right in and say "I'M HOME!"

FAKE FRIENDS: Are for awhile.
REAL FRIENDS: Are for life.

FAKE FRIENDS: Will talk bad to the person who talks bad about you.
REAL FRIENDS: Will knock the person out that talked bad about you.

If you were killed today, I'm sorry I wouldn't be able to come to your
funeral, because I'd be in jail for killing the person who did it.

I wanted to let you know that I LOVE you to death and think you are AMAZING !
